• 2 years hands on field experience with OSP splicing & testing and/or telecommunication construction.
• Must have a valid CA driver’s license / Responsible driving record.
• High School Diploma
Job Description
Looking for a Fiber Splicing Technician capable of performing skilled work on the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and restoration of fiber optic cables.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and prints.
• Capable of working at 30 ft + heights. (Bucket truck, poles, and ladders)
• Perform Single Fusion Slicing per industry standards. (Re-entries, Mid-Sheaths, and Butt Splices)
• Ability to test & troubleshoot, using an EXFO and JDSU OTDR.
• Maintain existing plant without causing signal interruptions.
• Ability to complete paperwork of production, cut sheets, and reports.
• Ability to demonstrate teamwork by cooperating and assisting co-workers as needed.
• Capable of possessing strong problem solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
• Perform weekly work vehicle maintenance inspections.
• Ability to read and follow work orders and prints.
