Established fiber splicing company is seeking to fill two full time positions. Needed ASAP. These are full time positions.

Pay

Pay will be hourly, time and half for all night work, double time for emergency work that occurs after business hours, weekends, or holidays. Pay is based on level of experience. Ranging from $25 to $30 plus an hour for very experienced splicers.

Qualifications

Looking for splicers with at least one year of experience which includes prepping Tyco 450 closures, fusion splicing, understanding splicing diagrams, able to work independently and as a team. All tools and supplied. We use Sprinter splicing vans, a bucket van, and a trailer. Must be able to understand how to use an OTDR and power meter. Must adhere to all safety rules and requirements. Must be able to communicate with skill and detail. Must be able to work a night shift from time to time.

Other Requirements

Need a valid drivers license with clean record. MVR will be pulled. Need to pass drug screen. Must be at least 18 years of age. Must be self motivated and able to accept and understand instructions, and ask questions if things are unclear. Must be able to accept being on-call for a week at a time, shared with other employees.

Established fiber splicing company in Denver, CO is seeking applicants to perform cable prepping, fusion splicing, OTDR testing, power testing, troubleshooting in the Denver CO metro area. This is a permanent full time position with a growing company.

Job Purpose:

Applicants must have actual hands-on experience of at least 1-2 years working with outside telecommunications optical cables both single mode and multi mode for a succesful applicant to be considered. This position DOES NOT include any optical equipment install or turn-up, software related experience, or design. This position is for applicants who posses the craft skills required to prep optical cable into splice closures, fiber termination panels, fusion splice, and OTDR and power meter testing experience. Direct end connector polishing skills a big plus. Must have valid drivers license and a clean driving record. Must pass a background check and drug screen.

Serves customers by installing, troubleshooting, and verifying outside plant fiber optics systems and equipment; documenting installation; building rapport with customers. Must know Tyco (Raychem) 400 series, 450 series, and Coyote splice closures. ADC and Corning fiber terminations panels.

Duties:

* Completes fiber optic installation by preparing cable ends; attaching cables and making connections using splice trays, adhesives, fusion, mechanical fiber optic splices; polishing fiber ends.

* Maintains fiber optic system compliance by adhering to minimum proper bend ratios and installation codes.

* Verifies and troubleshoots installation by testing with OTDR, light sources, power meters.

* Documents installation by filing out testing data documents.

* Maintains safe work environment by following safety rules; taking safety precautions; following proper disposal methods.

* Keeps personal equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; alerts management to possible issues.

* Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

* Maintains customer confidence by keeping installation information confidential.

* Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
