Job Description
A horizontal directional drilling firm is seeking to hire a Directional Drilling Superintendent. The role will be based in central Pennsylvania. The ideal candidate will be accountable for the following:
Provide a wide knowledge base of all drilling options and scenarios.
Experience with all aspects of the directional drilling industry is a must, including start up, demobilization, mud mixing, reaming selections and general project management.
Provide support to field personnel during failure analysis and troubleshooting
Maintain up to date knowledge base on all new technology
Ensuring safety policy and practices are consistently followed
Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.
Track personnel, failures, tools and jobs
Gather final logs and well info
Maintain all paperwork
Maintain good relationships with all vendors/clients
Ensure personnel has adequate training needed to run each job
Enforce that all personnel completes all safety reporting and knows when, and who to report it to morning phone calls to personnel ensuring operations are running smoothly
Enforcement of vehicle maintenance and inspections as well as maintaining records of all vehicle locations
Document and send all issues with personnel to human resources to be stored in their personal file
Position requirements
Must have a minimum of 10 plus years in the directional drilling field. With at minimum 5 years of experience as a superintendent.
Must have strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate well will all personnel, clients and superiors.
Strong written and verbal communication is a must.
The ideal candidate will be able to work independently with little direction.
They must have good organizational skills and be able to create plans for a team.
Awareness of issues involved in planning, cost management and logistics is a must.
The role will require extensive domestic travel.
