American Samoa - Fiber Splicer - Units or Hourly

American Samoa is a group of islands half way between Hawaii and New Zealand.
Starts
The project is currently under way. Qualified applicants could start as soon as they complete the hiring process, have their passport, and are ready to leave.
Pay
Employees are working under two types of pay: Unit Pay or Hourly.
Qualifications
Solid, quantifiable fusion splicing experience is a must. Single and Mass splicing is required. Experience with Sumitomo splicer and Exfo test gear a plus. Experience splicing in a production based environment a plus. FTTH experience a plus. Experience testing and troubleshooting fiber. The ideal applicant(s) will have a good work ethic, be hard working, and willing to learn. Applicant will need to have a standard driver's license, a clean driving record, and pass a pre-employment drug test.
Other Requirements
Splicers are required to have hand tools at minimum. A list of those tools will be provided during the interview process. Splicers that have complete truck and tools may also be considered for 1099 truck and tool expense.
Job Description
The American Samoa BLAST project is a fiber to the home project that spans all of the American Samoa islands. Originally scheduled to be a year long project, it will most likely extend beyond that for the splicing and testing portions of the project.
Employees are being rotated in and out on a scheduled break cycle and travel expenses to home or other desired locations is being covered by the company. Some employees are choosing to visit New Zealand, Western Samoa, and other locations during their breaks.
The islands offer a unique opportunity to see other cultures and experience island life. The company is providing high-end furnished apartments for the crews.
