Job Description

The selected candidate will prepare material and labor estimates for projects and services. In addition will evaluate blueprints and specifications of each opportunity. He/She will proactively work and communicate with employees, clients, vendors and subcontractors to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.
The Estimator will also provide support to the operations department through the implementation of projects. He/She will also provide support in creating and delivering closeout packages and deliverables to clients.
Primary Duties:
•Estimate the amount and type of material and labor required to complete scope of work
•Estimate the cost of all necessary labor, material, equipment, and all other expenses related to the proposed project
•Resolve any uncertainties and cost discrepancies with the client in the existing scope of work and design
•Assist the client in value engineering a project
•Identify cost trends to assist management in cost saving efforts
•Writing, produce, and deliver a professionally prepared proposal to the client using established company templates and/or the customers proposal form
•Prepare and monitor questions and responses of bids to clients
•Respond to clarification requests and requests for proposal revisions from clients
•Travel for bid walks and site visits
•Obtain bids from vendors and subcontractors by specifying materials and describing job tasks according to scope of work and specifications
•Identify qualified subcontractors and negotiating pricing
•Participate in internal reviews of bids with management and financial team
•Conduct kick-off meetings with operations department
•Other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
•5+ years of telco estimating experience, estimating background must be in the wireline/Telco industry
•Proficiency with Microsoft Office products
•Exceptional attention to detail, organization and skills
•Strong analytical, written and oral communication, and interpersonal skills
•Ability to demonstrate initiative and assertiveness and the ability to plan and manage work in an efficient manner
•Experienced and proficient with RUS codes and pricing
•Experience working in a professional office environment
•Experience in estimating with Telco providers such as Century Link, Windstream, Frontier Communications, AT&T, and Verizon
•Fluent in reading blueprints and network designs
•Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
•Availability and willingness to work on short notice during high volume proposal development periods
•Ability to travel
