Job Description
Responsibilities & Duties of Fiber Splicer: (This is an overview, as there will be additional tasks)
• Have the ability to read and follow work orders and prints.
• Drive safely per traffic laws to and from job sites.
• Perform Single and Ribbon Fusion Splicing of SM & MM fiber per industry standards. (Terminations, Pushes, Ring Cuts, Butt Splices, Mid-Sheaths, re-entries, hubs, etc)
• Perform Final Testing & Troubleshooting using an EXFO OTDR.
• Perform the administrative paperwork of production sheets, pictures, cut sheets, test packages and reports.
• Be able to work on outside plant and inside plant applications.
• Perform weekly maintenance inspections on assigned equipment and work vehicle.
• Understand, agree to and perform work in a safe manner. Abide by OSHA and industry safety standards when working with vehicle lift, ladders, harnesses, manholes, traffic control and proper safety equipment/apparel.
