Job Description
Time Warner Cable is currently seeking a Senior Manager of Construction, Residential Construction Boroughs & Special Projects, to join our Construction Department in Brooklyn (Paidge Ave offices). Below please find a brief description of the essential duties and responsibilities required to function successfully in this position.
POSITION SUMMARY:
Position will oversee the day to day Construction Operations of services within the Construction Department. The Senior Manager has to plan, assign and direct the employees who are engaged in construction, installation, maintenance and operation of different telecommunications systems and support items. This includes the design, construction, implementation and testing of services within the New York City Region. Construction includes both the Outside Plant and Inside Plant Fiber and Coax Networks. The ideal candidate should have experience and be familiar with the practices and laws governing Communications Construction in the Greater New York City Area. Ensure that services are turned up on time and within Capital, and Expense budgets. Provide Management with daily reporting Metrics of the key business drivers. Candidate will review, negotiate and manage 3rd party contractors on behalf of the Time Warner Cable.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Oversees Construction Operations of Residential Services.
Manages, motivates, trains, and mentors a team of individuals in support of company and department goals, provides employee evaluation and guidance to direct reports.
Create Metric Driven Reports that are meaningful to the business and provide a clear understanding to management of the business.
Manages reviews and negotiates contract agreements on behalf of the Time Warner Cable to provide facilities, fiber, building and existing conduit structures.
Candidate is involved in the planning, development and construction of new telecommunications buildings and sites and has to make sure that users are satisfied and there is internal consistency
Creates budgets, and oversees capital and operational spending and cash flow percentages for the Construction Department.
Communicates and cooperates with City, County, State, local power and telephone companies, other cable companies or any other entity having mutual cable TV/ALTS Plant interests, problems or concerns and/or projects in our franchise areas and ensures that good operational relationships with these entities continue to exist.
Resolves legal/operational issues with the City, County, State, local power and telephone companies and other cable companies regarding building and maintenance of the Cable TV and/or ALTS plant.
Counsels and advises appropriate departments on system changes, technical or construction problems that can affect the Division.
Maintains close partnership with internal customers in Technical Operations.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
A high school diploma is required, Bachelor Degree or Master’s Degree Preferred. .
Must possess a minimum of ten years’ experience in a management position.
Extensive experience in all facets of cable and telephony operation and construction in Support of Residential Services.
Metric Driven leader who can clearly communicate Roles and Responsibilities as well as expectations to the team and Management
Ability to manage large capital and operational budgets.
Must possess extensive knowledge of local, State and utility rules and regulations governing the construction and maintenance of the Cable TV and telephony systems.
Must be able to read and interpret technical documents, Fiber/HFC systems design blue prints, legal documents related to easements and rights of way, and various communications systems and sub-systems.
Passess a valid New York State driver’s license and safe driving record.
