Job Description
The Fiber Technician position is a mid-level to senior level construction worker that can perform both aerial and underground cable and fiber installation work, splice fiber, and has a good working knowledge of GO95 and GO128 rules and regulations. In addition, the Fiber Technician will be expected to undertake a lead and/or foreman role in the field for both aerial and underground fiber related work, as it relates to the fiber trees and cut sheets.
Const. Tech
• Perform trenching, asphalt and cement cutting services for cable television products at an assigned work order address in a timely fashion, while adhering to Company procedures and safe work practices, and the standards set forth by the Company and its clients;
• Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of lateral installation, ability to draw underground service feed from street to work order address and check video quality. Work in an efficient and timely manner to be able to perform all assigned tasks;
• Demonstrate sufficient knowledge of landscaping, aerial, underground, and in-home cable installations;
• Accurately and neatly complete all required forms and paperwork within given timeframes (other employees should be able to read all handwritten paperwork);
• Ensure high standards of workmanship; and
• Perform additional duties as assigned and/or needed.
