Job Summary:
We are seeking a person to grow with our company expand our foundation in supporting our clients optical infrastructure. This candidate must possess a will to adapt to ever changing environment. Preferred candidate experienced with CenturyLink and RUS standards a plus. In addition this candidate will perform integrated equipment turn up and installation. Familiarity with Ethernet equipment such as Calix, Adtran, Zone and Fujitsu is very beneficial. Regional travel is required and the ability to adapt to work hours changes is a must.
This position is to splice, test and trouble shoot fiber optic cable in a RUS environment . Duties include fiber splicing, fiber management, equipment turn up and fiber optic assembly operations. Candidate will perform optical and electronic acceptance tests; diagnoses and debugs problems identified during testing. Determines and/or follows methods and sequence of operations in performing these operations. Works under general supervision
Job Specifications:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Build and test fiber optic fusion splicing in multiple environments. Cable types may include but not limited to loose tube, Ribbon, micro fiber both multi and Single mode. Splice and manage polarization maintaining optical fibers both live and non-working. Work with optical assemblies and custom electronic test equipment to perform test and calibration. Perform a wide variety of optical, electronic or combination of assembly operations on assemblies associated to client request. Work with optical client planning engineers to create service completion for end to end completion. Record test and build data into electronic files as assemblies are tested. Support the design, integration and maintenance of test fixtures including off the self and special applications. Functions and labor are all applicable to multiple environments.

• Ability to use established electrical, digital, and/or mechanical principals and to perform appropriate tests to identify and solve problems encountered on the job.
• Ability to efficiently and accurately work with multiple types of information and/or perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Ability to complete designated amount of work in a specified timeframe (e.g., quality jobs per day), adjusting work assignments or schedules to meet changing work-related priorities or demands.
• Ability to work well with others to achieve common goals and to foster a cooperative climate, as well as to work independently in the field with little supervision.
• Ability to climb and work at elevations (e.g., from ladders, poles, lift trucks) exceeding 18 feet.
• Ability to work in confined spaces (e.g., attics, crawl spaces, utility holes).
• Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to lifting objects weighing over 100 pounds.
• Ability to perform job activities outdoors in different weather conditions (e.g., extreme cold and/or heat, inclement weather).
• Requires a valid State driver’s license.
• Ability to work varying shifts and hours including mandatory overtime, weekends and holidays.
