Field Tech for OH and UG design Plus permit work
Independent Contractor
Indiana, Kentucky, Michigan, Ohio, Tennessee
Work to be performed in various locations. For now, most of the work is in IN and Northern KY.
Starts
Will need 1 field engineer and 1 permit specialist asap. Will need additional field engineers in the coming months.
Pay
Pay is commensurate with experience and work performance and will be paid on a per unit basis.
Qualifications
5 years experience in outside plant design in both OH and UG note taking in telecommunications fiber design. To be familiar with construction and installation methods both OH and UG.
Other Requirements
Must have the following equipment; extendo stick for measuring attachment heights on poles, laser range finder (+or- 3 feet), camera that uses sd cards, clip boards, cell phone , measuring wheel, computer, and reliable transportation. Must be able to operate and pay expenses, company will hold 2 weeks out and pay every 2 weeks.
Job Description
Position 1: Must be able to measure utility pole attachments to include but not limited to all communications attachments, street lights, power secondary cables, transformers, cat banks, neutrals etc,. Notes must be clean and easy to read when turned in. Must be able to perform the work with minimal supervision working in a workman like manor with the public along streets, highways, county roads and alleys. Must be able to work alone or as a team.
Must be able to take UG notes also when needed, and to be able to make decisions when poles are too costly to change to make the move to ug. Determine the best places to put down guys etc. Also must be able to take the needed notes to create permits for highway and railroad crossing.
Able to do duct searches would be a plus.
For the right person this could turn into a full time position.
Position 2: We also need someone experienced in handling all sorts of permits and permitting issues, also with good communication skills and able to deal with various public personal and attend meeting if needed to get permits approved for the customer.
