* Ability to climb utility poles, approx. 20’ in height
* Ability to lift and/or pull 100 pounds several times each day
* Ability to work in an outdoor environment during all times of the year
* Willingness to travel
* Valid Driver’s License
Job Description
Aerial Linesperson:
* Maintain proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignment
* Throw 1-2 lb. weighted rope over elevated cable lines, and tree branches
* Pull lashing equipment down cable lines to secure wires
* Use pounding equipment to install grounding rods and anchors into ground
* Assist in pulling out cable lines and other equipment used in installing cable TV wires
* Install equipment and dress pole to customer specifications, using assorted small hand and power tools
* Operate chain hoist to add tension to cable and guy wires
* Read blueprints to interpret daily work assignment
* Operate vehicle and bucket lift safely, following all safety and traffic regulations
* Direct traffic flow in accordance with local D.O.T. guidelines
* Prepare paperwork to track daily production, and accurately record completed work on job site blueprints
* Other responsibilities as directed by Supervision
Fiber Optic/Coax Splicer:
* To perform tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing * Fiber Optical telecommunication systems.
* Maintain proper inventory on vehicle based on work assignment
* Assemble equipment according to design specifications
* Prep, Dress, Store fiber optic cabling to specifications
* Arrive at location, and install equipment on pole, or in pedestal, using various hand tools
* Operate tools and test equipment, including Fusion splicer, cleaver, fiber prep tools, OTDR
* Test, activate, and troubleshoot fiber links after installation
* Complete all as-built documentation
* Operate vehicle and bucket lift safely, following all safety and traffic regulations
* Able to read, interpret and understand fiber optic matrix and build to design
* Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle- check fluids, clean and organize vehicle
* Prepare paperwork to track daily production, and accurately record completed work on job site blueprints
* Other responsibilities as directed by Supervision
