Qualifications

• Work outside in all types of weather. • Must be able to lift, handle, and carry 80-pound ladder and meet ladder safety/weight requirements. (250 lbs.) • Must be able to work at heights of 3-40 ft. • Must be able to bend, stand, sit, crawl, climb, and lift throughout each day. • Must be able to operate bucket trucks and aerial lifts • Minimum 3 years experience in all aspects of Aerial, Underground HFC construction.

Other Requirements

• High School Diploma or College • Knowledge to read & understand network design maps. • Knowledge of local & state construction codes. • Knowledge of splicing and activation of HFC broadband equipment. • Knowledge of using MS Word & Excel. • Must have a current, valid, unrestricted driver's license & meet Kanaan Communications driving criteria guidelines. • Must be able to pass a comprehensive Background Check & Drug Test.

Job Description

PURPOSE:
Responsible for Aerial and Underground cable and fiber splicing construction activities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Each of the functions listed below have depth which for purposes of this general description, are not listed. Essential responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
• Participate in the planning and construction splicing of coaxial and fiber optic cable networks for new build, rebuild or repair.
• Climb ladders, enter buildings, vaults, trenches and manholes to inspect, place, maintain, fabricate or remove wiring and equipment.
• Obtain permits for construction, aerial and underground when required.
• Prepare daily production log.
• Assist in coordinate between Kanaan Communications and local utilities
• Prepares documentation for permits when required.
• Meet with developers, associations and home or business owners to discuss client's plans when necessary.
• Scheduling plant related activities for construction and / or maintenance.
• Submit reports on all construction activity, daily, weekly and monthly as required.
• Attend training classes for new technology and safety as required.

REQUISITE SKILLS and KNOWLEDGE:

• Installation and network upgrades experience a plus.
• Understanding emergency restoration protocols.
• Running Cable in Buildings.
• Able to perform all duties of Aerial maintenance and Line work.
• Install and Remove various anchors systems.
• Install and Remove down guy/anchor, sidewalk arms, and guy guards.
• Lash and DeLash Existing Cable.
• Experience in Pole Transfer all types.
