Due to exceptional growth, NX Utilities LLC is seeking a Full Time Journeyman Technician MDU in the Elizabeth, New Jersey.
Position Description:
The MDU Journeyman Technician role is responsible for the placement and safe installation of the pathway associated with the fiber optic wiring from the point of entry to the end users unit location.
The Journeyman is responsible to make sure that the work is completed with the time frames and within the specifications outlined by our customer. This individual will interface with both local and corporate management of NX Utilities teams and customer contact representatives.
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and /or ability required.
Position Requirements:
• Attention to detail, previous experience working on electrical wiring type of installations within the hallways, attics ,basements, garage locations. Previous understanding the placement and routing of telecom, electric types of utilities.
• Must have experienced in operating a core drill machine, both wet and dry.
• Extensive knowledge and ability to install EMT, PVC and Flex conduit, including pipe hangers and uni-strut.
• Experience with the utilization EMT pipe bender.
• Able to use a floor scanner to identify utilities and or rebar in the concrete slab
• Familiar with the National Electric Code
• Can provide ideas in creating a vertical and horizontal conduit pathways in mutli-story commercial and residential buildings
• Able to read and understand building electrical and architectural drawings
• Ability to conceptualize and plan the prospective routing of fiber optic routing to scale and complete all of the necessary paperwork required for each survey.
• Ability to work in the elements throughout the year.
• This position requires ability to lift at least 80 pounds and work in a tight spaces work off of ladders
• Ability to interface with customers.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 2-3 years field experience in an Journeyman Technician MDU.
• Understand building construction.
• Computer literate in all listed applications.
• Excel, word, Adobe & Outlook
Must have neat penmanship & attention to DETAIL
Be able to work in fast pace environment with flexible schedule to meet deadlines
Knowledge in Cable TV Installation or construction crafts person
