SEFNCO Communications is currently recruiting for a Construction Field Crew Foreman to support our facility in Centennial, CO.
Operating from multiple locations, SEFNCO Communications has the ability to provide single source engineering, construction, and management solutions that meet the growing needs of phone, broadband, cable and cellular companies throughout the Western United States. Job Purpose:
The role of a Foreman is a specialty trained employee who has expertise in the construction and repair of overhead plant or RF/ Fiber lines. The foreman will lead a field crew of aerial and/or underground field personnel to complete jobs as directed by their Construction Supervisor and Outside Plant Engineer.
The Foreman also has extensive training in specialty equipment to service these overhead and underground projects. A Foreman will also have an extensive and practical knowledge of the RF and Fiber network makeup, its operation and network assets for troubleshooting and repair as well as new construction. The following duties are included but not limited to:
Primary Duties:
• Performs all duties according to prescribed safety procedures and uses appropriate safety equipment.
• Vehicle and equipment operations from trucks to other equipment as directed and certified
• Working in manhole systems, verifying and proofing existing conduit systems
• Rodding and roping conduit systems
• Towing various trailers with flatbed trucks
• Provides support for crews during all phases of construction activity
• Understand how to read and construct from a design schematic of map
• Understand all inventory and equipment required for these projects
• Commission safety guidelines
• Underground work as needed and directed and as trained
• Ability to troubleshoot RF and Fiber line and or equipment issues
• Lead teams in the field effectively and efficiently as needed and directed by supervisor
• Construction and repair of underground RF and Fiber service
• Understand how to read and construct from a design schematic of map
• Understand all inventory and equipment required for these projects
• Certified on the use of equipment:
o Line truck
o Bucket truck
o Cable Reel equipment
o Saws and drills
• Ability to climb poles with climbing equipment safely
• Move and relocate RF and Fiber service
• Familiar with NESC (National Electrical Safety Commission) safety guidelines
Skills/Qualifications:
• Valid US Drivers license
• Clean driving record
• Required certifications for this position
• Lift and carry up to 70 lbs
• Ability to read and understand maps, drawings and diagrams for project build process
• Must pass UI Test (urinalysis)
• Ability to read and understand design schematics and maps
• Climbing certification or related experience
• Practical working experience of overhead construction for both RF and Fiber
• Knowledge of Overhead Bill of Materials
• City, County and State clearance code knowledge and related
• Extensive knowledge of Network architecture and design for both RF and Fiber networks
• Flagger Certified for field work as needed
