Qualifications
Perform Fusion splicing / repair on all types of cable/fiber to include; Keptel, 3M, Coyote, able to splice/repair cables that are aerial, buried, and underground (vault/manhole), and splice live fiber section throws and cut overs.
Must be able to use test equipment, measuring devices, meters (Cleaver, OTDR, and Fiber Identifier) and hand tools in analyzing, adjusting, installing, wiring, repairing, maintaining and testing wireless, transmission, and associated equipment.
Other Requirements
Must Have Cell Phone, be physically fit to perform job (must be able to lift 70 lbs). Lifting tools and ladders. Work from a bucket. Work in confined spaces. Handle all necessary materials and supplies .
Traffic control / Wear appropriate safety equipment and follows established safety practices and procedures.
The ability to work with other employees and / or customers in the maintenance and installation of wireless service, and perform job independently with no supervision.
Job Description
WANTED: Experienced outside plant fiber technician. Duties include live fiber section throws and cut overs. Fusion splicing and OTDR testing. Able to use the following: Fiber Identifier, cleaver and mid entry tool.
Ribbon Splicing a plus must be able to splice a mux, mid sheath, tie-in, coupler and know how to backfeed.
Required: 3years on the Job Experience
Must be RELIABLE, Have a Cell Phone, answer when called, show up when asked, willing to work all shifts, and overtime.
Must be flexible to work days, nights, evenings, work overtime and emergency call outs, and be able to work in all types of weather.
Must be able to use a computer (laptop), to get job assignments, to do time sheets and enclosure forms
Must be able to perceive differences in wire and cable colors.
Must be able to use a Bucket lift and drive company vehicle.
Must have a valid drivers license and pass a drug test
