Qualifications
Education and/or Experience: Ten years of cable construction management and /or engineering management experience with a thorough understanding of all aspects relative to HFC architectures.
Computer skills: Proficient computer knowledge, including Access, Word, Excel and Microsoft Outlook.
Job Description
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
Under the direction of the Manager and/or Director of Construction, the Permit Coordinator will be responsible for securing all necessary permits from various agencies to allow forward progress on all construction projects.
JOB DUTIES
• Review proposed construction routes received from the construction manager and pull maps to verify design and continuity.
• Visit field on all jobs to draft up proposed construction route. Mark off long distances with great precision and accuracy while using a measuring wheel. This includes all monuments, facilities, street, sidewalk and lane widths.
• Work with all agencies to verify right of ways and retrieve sewer and storm maps to make sure there are no conflicts.
• Submit completed draft and encroachment application with proposed route to necessary agencies along with any other specific requirements.
• Submit traffic control (MUTCD specific) with encroachment application when required.
• Work with various agencies to ensure that AC Square, Inc. is current with all insurance and business licenses. Will need to work with headquarters to secure when required.
• Responsible for the delegation and tracking of aerial engineering issued to subcontractor.
• Responsible for maintain multiple data bases as well as distribution to all East Zone construction managers on a weekly basis.
• Responsible for ordering checks for any agency fees required.
• Must field all railroad requests and produce an exhibit A in order for Comcast to secure an irrevocable license allowing an encroachment.
• Attend pre-construction meetings with appropriate agencies.
• Work with Government Affairs on escalated jobs.
• Address customer issues to successfully resolve any disputes.
• Attend any necessary training at a Comcast facility.
• Spot power supplies and secure PG&E agreements for placement
• Communicate with other service providers to track all aerial attachments.
