Qualifications
3-5+ years experience of Fiber Splicing preferred
Knowledge of Cat 5, 5E, and 6 cabling preferred
Hands on Splicing fiber optics
Strong knowledge of OTDR Testers and optics
Other Requirements
Must be willing to work nights and weekends as required.
Willing to travel when necessary.
Must be able to work alone with little or no supervision. Maintain a high level of performance under the pressure of time constraints and a fast-paced changing environment
Job Description
Splice fiber optic cables using single and mass fusion equipment.
Test fiber using Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR), power meter and light source, field testing with a light identifier.
Trouble Shooting.
Install required enclosures, FTP’s, and hardware.
Capable of working at heights (bucket truck, poles, ladders). Must pass a DOT physical, drug screening, and background check. Ability to operate a motor vehicle. Must have a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
