NX Utilities LLC is seeking a full time Fiber Engineering for the Tampa area.
Job Description
•The Fiber Engineer is responsible for all aspect of planning and designing of services to support telecom company’s transport and routing of fiber optic networks.
•The Engineer position will work on multiple projects to validate.
•Primary responsibilities include design and completion of construction plans in carrier systems (OSP FM, EWO, etc.) for new fiber-optic facilities.
•Experience translating survey documents and field notes into carrier systems designs is required.
•The ideal candidates will have extensive experience and relationships within the build area fundamental knowledge of OSP design, and proficiency with OSP fiber management.
•Execute work orders for outside plant facilities while meeting quality, time and budget guidelines
•Analyze and produce cost effective design solutions
•Coordinate and plan design and drafting projects including bill of materials, permits and associated tracking of each component
Position Requirements
•3 years or more of experience with fiber designs, FTTH design, copper or coax cable design, pole line design and buried or underground design
•Strong technical knowledge and skills
•Ability to learn and operate customer based proprietary software and other computer systems to expedite and facilitate work order process
•Strong drafting background (3 years) utilizing AutoCAD, and/or Focus, Bentley, Vision
•Experience with Spatial Info design software A plus
•Experience interpreting CATV or Telcom construction/contractor blueprints & as-builds is a must
•Working knowledge of all Microsoft Windows suite of software
•Valid Driver License
•Must be able to pass background and drug screen
