Other Requirements
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); five years in the field work experience is also required.

Job Description
Operating vehicles, mechanized devices, or equipment – Running maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles such as vans, pickup trucks and splicing labs. Access specific areas using bucket trucks, ladders, or entering tunnels, trenches, or crawl spaces.Performing physical activities that require considerable use of your arms and legs, moving your whole body, such as climbing, lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, and handling of materials.
Performing for or working directly with the public.Communicating with people outside the organization, representing the organization to customers, the public, government, and other external sources.Setup service for customers, installing, connecting, and testing.Clean maintain tools and test equipment.
Inspect or test lines or cables, recording and analyzing test results, to assess transmission characteristics and locate faults using an Optical Time Domain Reflectometer (OTDR).Splice fiber optic cables using fusion machines, hand tools, epoxy, or mechanical equipment.
Places enclosures on fiber optic cables to ensure they are water and air tight.
