Qualifications
All candidates must have at least a high school diploma or equivalent. CATV installation/Premise Wire/MDU experience is preferred, paid training available. Travel between markets is required. Must be able to work at heights 3' to 28' and meet the ladder safety requirements for proper use. Candidates must provide their own common hand tools and drill. Candidates must also be able to handle 80lbs and work outdoors year-round.
Other Requirements
Candidates must have a current, valid, unrestricted driver’s license and meet driving criteria guidelines. Also they must be able to pass a background check, per company policy and drug test. Candidates should be mechanically inclined, have good attention to detail and be a great team player.
Job Description
This position is responsible for the following task:
•Pre-wire multi dwelling unit (MDU) new construction with coax or cat5e cable.
•Install cover plates, test, and ID all outlets
•Install distribution box (lock box)
•Post-wire existing, occupied (MDU) with coax or cat 5e cable.
•Reconnect all active customers and confirm all services
•Terminate voice/ data (cat5e, cat6)
•Build pathway and install feeder and fiber in commercial setting.
•Operates vehicles, hand tools, power tools, ladders, signal level meters, volt meters, converters, cable locators, leakage detection devices, other test equipment
•Completes required paperwork, time sheets, vehicle inspection, logs, noting any problems requiring attention of other staff members.
•Maintains a clean and organized company vehicle/ equipment. To carry out all work efficiently and in the safest possible manner. Safety is a prime directive of all employees.
•Provides the client with the best service, and promotes a good relationship between the subscriber and the local cable company. Must convey a positive and professional appearance and demeanor when communicating the company’s products and services.
•Assists other team personnel in the performance of their duties when requested to promote a team approach to problem solving environment. May perform other duties not listed.
