Basic understanding of the use of computers, PC and Mac. IPTV/Cable experience. Must have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interface with the customer in a professional and understanding manner. Tech must be clean and properly groomed in a manner generally accepted by the public. Must wear khaki pants; shirts will be provided. Attention to detail and quality workmanship is essential. Must pass a drug screen and background check prior to employment.

Installing IPTV video service and high speed Internet service at residential locations. Service orders will be assigned at the beginning of the shift. The Tech will be expected to work individually except in some instances where it is determined that a second Tech would be of benefit. The Tech will select the required equipment to be installed before leaving the reporting location and will be expected to complete all orders in a timely and quality manner. Upon arrival at the customer location, it will be the responsibility of the Tech to determine the best method to complete the installation and review that plan with the customer. Once the customer has agreed with the proposal, the Tech will proceed, respecting the customer’s property with the upmost care at all times. The Tech will install the equipment, which can include power supply, optical network interface (ONI) and router, in the appropriate location and install the wiring from the network interface device (NID) on the outside of the house to the equipment. The Tech will then place new COAX or Cat 5 wiring, or rehab the existing wiring, to each outlet where video and/or Internet service is requested. This may require the drilling of holes, fishing walls, and entering a crawl space or attic. The Tech will ensure that the Internet can be accessed, test the speed and demonstrate how to access the Internet to the customer. The Tech will install the set top box(s), some of which may be wireless, and ensure that the video signal is strong and working properly. The use of the remote and the on-screen menu will be covered thoroughly with the customer. Once the customer is satisfied with the installation, the Tech will go to the next location.
