Qualifications
Knowledge, use, maintenance, and inspection of bucket trucks, aerial
lifts, and climbing equipment. Candidate must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of trade, tools and equipment. Ability to climb poles. Must provide own climbing gear and hand tools. Valid Driver License Required.
Job Description
Various aerial maintenance and new construction for self-support and
strand/lash cable systems.
• Various aerial maintenance and new construction tasks such as riser,
downguy, overhead guy, extension arm, strand and hardware, and
anchor installations, pole transfers, tree trimming, re-sagging, twisting,damper removal, wreck out, vertical bonds,snowshoe installation.
•Identification and knowledge of characteristics of electric, fiber optic,coaxial cable television, and copper telephone cables.
•Knowledge and enforcement of proper safety procedures for operation of
construction equipment and vehicles, minimum approach distances,
weather emergency planning, hand and power tools, fall protection,
personal protective equipment, rubber insulating personal protective
equipment.
