Job Description
JOB SUMMARY:
Perform splicing activity of active and passive equipment in main line, read CATV design maps, complete and supervise other related maintenance procedures on CATV plant.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION:
Perform general plant maintenance work as assigned by supervisor
Splice main line equipment in CATV plant and new cable and retrofit
Splice new cable and retrofit
Clean, maintain and stock assigned vehicle and equipment
Complete in a timely manner paperwork required
Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor and adhere to company policies.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Ability to use cable installation and hand tools.
Ability to work from high places such as poles and roofs.
Knowledge of cable television products and services.
Ability to work independently and prioritize effectively.
Ability to communicate in clear and concise manor.
Ability to travel
Ability to communicate with customers and co-workers in a clear and professional manner.
EDUCATION:
High School diploma or equivalent
RELATED WORK EXPERIENCE:
Minimum 5 years experience in CATV splicing and pole climbing
CERTIFICATIONS AND/OR LICENSES:
Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Climb poles with proper equipment and ability to use ladders or bucket trucks.
Lift and carry up to 80 pounds.
Work while standing 65-85% of the time.
Work near power lines and electricity.
Drive company vehicle in performance of duties in a safe manner.
Work and travel in inclement weather.
Vision ability: close vision, peripheral vision, and ability to adjust to focus.
Manipulate connectors, fasteners, wires and use hand tools.
Office Computer related activities.
Overnight travel a must.
