SUMMARY
A CI (Construction Inspector I) supports and reports to the CPM on a project and oversees the field
activities of the Contractors. Their duties include overseeing Installation of the network infrastructure
according customer and permitting agency specifications, documenting compliance, Responsible for daily
reports to customer and agencies. Document issues and concerns to CPM. Monitor all safety practices
such as and not limited to Traffic Control, Community safety & job safety. Implementing project scope of
work and administering construction management process. The Construction Management Inspector
must be proficient in Telecommunications Fiber Installation methods, use of modern technology tools,
computers & associated software, mobile devices such as pda(s) and tablet devices.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Ø? Site Construction Observation – Monitor and document the field activities of the customers
construction contractors. Ensure that site construction schedules are adhered to. Responsible for
keeping the Construction Project Manager updated on all field activities. Document and evaluate
(Daily Inspection, Soil Density tests, special inspections, Change Requests.) for input into site
closeout packages.
Ø? Quality Assurance – Understand the client’s specifications and oversee the administration of the
quality assurance program. Ensure that site punch lists are completed in a timely manner.
Ø? Client Relations/Interaction – Interact with the client as needed and maintain good working relations.
Ensure that efforts in the field by the Contractors are carried out per the client’s directions and
specifications.

Ø? Research and understand regional or local permit processes insure complete understanding of
restrictions and guidelines within the permits. Manage and coordinate Redline’s.
Ø? Safety Management – Understand project safety plan and report safety issues for resolution. Ensure
that all parties in a project adhere to the safety plan.
Ø? Administrative –Maintain project files to ensure completeness. Track sites status and assist in the
reporting of a project’s status to the Construction Project Manager. Assist in the reporting of project
milestones to the Construction Project Manager. Assemble necessary site documentation for site
closeout package.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
College degree preferred. 5 -7 years experience in telecommunications construction; or equivalent
combination of education and experience. Experienced in Fiber Optic telecommunication installation,
commissioning and maintenance.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient in Fiber backbone construction
Ability to travel as required
Must be available for weekend and night work when necessary
Comfortable in self-directed environment
Ability to read and interpret project blue prints documents
High Standard of Oral and Written skill.

WORK ENVIRONMENT
The employee will likely be placed in a remote project office. Project offices are typically informal and
short on amenities. Employee will work a significant portion of his/her time in the field andwill be required
to use his/her car extensively for work purposes. Employee will visit a wide variety of Jobsites from busy
streets and highways to large dirt fields. Employee will be required to fully explore each Jobsite which
may include but will not be limited too: Walking on and through undeveloped land, Busy and congested
streets and intersections, working close to trenches and heavy equipment.
