Job Description
SWEEP AND CERTIFICATION
1. Contractor shall rough balance all amplifiers in the system to -/+ 1 dB of the system design.
2. Contractor shall align and sweep the forward designed bandwidth verifying each system amplifier in the system meets performance criteria specified in Charter’ system alignment and certification procedures document and manufacturer’s recommended practices. Overall goal is N/2 + 2 for each station.
3. Contractor shall balance and sweep the return designed bandwidth verifying each system amplifier is within 3 dB Peak-to-Valley.
4. Contractor shall provide sweep traces at the internal test point and every active port of all amplifiers including all line extenders.
5. During the sweep it may also be necessary to install signature correction devices at designated amplifiers. Charter shall provide all signature correction devices.
6. Contractor shall provide a sweep trace response with all Amplifier Data Sheets that will list all vital information for each amplifier station.
7. Re-referencing procedure-
(a) If a bad span is detected then the sweep tech will re- reference and continue with production if feasible.
(i) The tech will thoroughly detail the bad span location on a system approved form and/or map.
(ii) The tech will communicate that information to the Point of Contact (POC) for that system that day.
(b) The system designated contact will follow standard process such as -
(i) Track the confirmation of the bad span
(ii) Ensure it is issued to the PR resource
(iii) Track completion
(iv) Notify the sweep team that it is replaced and ready for finalization.
(c) The sweep tech will then verify-
(i) That the affected actives are meeting performance specs.
(ii) Turn in the information as required that the node is complete
1. In-house QC teams will ensure that 100% of re-referenced runs are QC’ed.
(iii) Have the service partner company’s QC team inspect 100% of all re-referenced runs.
(iv) Any variances identified will be brought to the sweep company for immediate correction.
8. Contractor shall provide Charter a complete report containing all sweep and balance information at the completion of each node area. Charter has the right to review any sweep information at any time during the course of the WORK.
9. Charter shall have the right to reject any responses not meeting specification at an individual location or at the end of line and request a re-sweep of those locations.
10. End-of-line responses shall include Level Measurement at six frequencies for 870MHz plant, as identified by the Project Manager (PM), and final response picture. This requirement may be changed, by the Charter PM, to an active only sweep, which will preclude the need to do EOL measurements.
11. Charter shall have the right to reject any responses not meeting specification at an individual location or at the end of line and request are-sweep of those locations.
12. Node certification must follow Charter specifications.
PM05
Sweep & Certification
Per CBS Ft. and CBT Ft.
DEFINITION: Includes the swept response alignment and documentation of all active downstream and upstream system components. Includes replacement of any and all active or passive components that fail to meet system swept response specifications. Work shall be performed in accordance with industry recommended practices and with Charter sweep specifications. Any discrepancy shall be documented and reported to the Charter Project Manager for correction or repair.
PM02
Cable Analysis
Per cable span
DEFINITION: Includes bi-directional testing to identify faults with documentation. Includes re-connectorization of existing cable and removal of temporary if no faults are found. Includes notification of Charter dispatch personnel prior to service interrupting activity. Includes measurement and documentation of signal levels at end of line tap if affected span is downstream of any system active devices or realignment and documentation of signal levels at first affected system active if affected span is upstream of any system active device.
