Pay
10 day turn around on invoices. 10% retainage held. Retainage paid out within 6 months of project end. Unit pricing. Expect $4k-$5k weekly depending on experience.
Qualifications
Fluent in English. Must have experience splicing on active plant. Preferred to have laptop with wireless capability to communicate with modem. Must have clean drivers license, and pass background check. Must have own truck and tools for splicing .500, 650 and .750 MC2 cable. Must have signal level meter. Must have all necessary hand tools for cutting and cleaning cables. Must have General Liability, Workers Comp (NY), and auto policy acceptable to prime.
Job Description
Cablevision Systems Corp is upgrading their existing system by adding approximately 20,000 wifi units. The work entails adding splitters and taps to the existing system to allow signal feed to the new wifi units. There will be some coaxial cable placement for crews that can handle that work in addition to splicing. This is not a cable placing job, but some spans will be added. Wifi radios will be activated and tested by splicers. Proof of performance documentation is required (hence the laptop). On past projects I-phones and like devices were capable of supporting documentation required. All splicing on active plant is performed in the 12AM-6AM maintenance window. Swaps and cold splicing can be performed outside this time window. Truck parking is available within 40 minutes of all work. This is an urban job. Work is in Bronx, Brooklyn and Westchester NY. Start immediately. Duration is thru December 2013.
