Qualifications
Job Knowledge and Skills:
• Experience with AutoCAD, FOCUS/Bentley Comm,
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and Access.
• Basic understanding of OSP construction practices.
• Understand how to leverage existing fiber optic cable into new designs.
• Ability to quickly troubleshoot and resolve fiber connectivity problems.
• Good documentation skills.
• Must be capable of working on several concurrent projects with different customer requirements.
• Ability to work under strict deadlines.

Opportunities for in-house employees or subcontractors
Primary Job Responsibilities:
• Design and drafting of commercial fiber projects
• Design includes the headend optical transmitters, receivers, and couplers.
• Layout the outside plant fiber counts and routes to the fiber optic nodes as well as other fiber customer sites.
• Select fiber splice locations and splice the entire fiber network.
• Outside plant design will often include muxing and demuxing.
• Create fiber cable order forms, reel summaries, link loss budgets, splice guides, key maps, and schematics.
• Will require communication with the customer.
