Job Description
CABLE LINEMAN
General Purpose of Position:
Hangs new fiber optic cable and repairs existing cable. Could also include
Coax cable.
Essential Functions of Position
Drives the lift truck to work site locations.
Operates lift from inside the bucket.
Sets out traffic cones and signs to establish a safe work zone around the immediate work site.
Performs direct line maintenance including repair or replacement of existing cable, hangin new fiber optic lines including coax cable
Coordinates with other linemen to test the signal between poles.
Follows established safety procedures including use of personal protective equipment and proper placement of cones, signage, and other equipment to minimize exposure to roadway hazards.
Alerts other employees or supervisor immediately of any apparent or developing hazards. Take appropriate and immediate action in the event of a work site accident or incident.
