Qualifications
5+ yrs of project management experience in the telecom industry and/or Bachelors in Engineering or Project Management; 3-5 yrs experience in Broadband/Metro Ethernet/FTTX design (fiber plant design, splicing documentation, and RF/stand design in a CAD environment). Understanding of as-built redline documentation and posting to CAD. Experience managing and scheduling large projects understanding the “critical path” while interfacing with the engineering department of large telecom companies.
Job Description
Primarily responsible for overseeing the client relationship while accountable for the total project scope, scheduling and timely invoicing. Provide information through the chain of command as required. Additional responsibilities include:
• Accountable for total project scope and quality control
• Changes to or modifications of customer specifications
• Delivery schedules
• Collect business requirements from customer. Study, research and provide feedback regarding customer requirements.
• Interact with customer on developing specifications for proposed projects.
• Manage tasks related to specifications, design creation, cell library’s, modifications, implementation of the Project Definition.
• Document approved specifications and Project Definitions.
• Track development progress and manage project schedule
• Insure timely shipments of product to customer for specific jobs.
• Prepare invoicing as required by the accounting department on time.
• Mentor train and develop project personnel with minimal direction.
• May be required to do some programming from time to time.
Required Skills:
Must have good organization skills with the ability to work on numerous jobs simultaneously. Must be able to communicate effectively with co-workers and superiors and to motivate both to provide timely information for job tracking. Must have excellent customer relations skills with the ability to find answers to customer questions in a timely manner. Must be familiar with design and drafting software including Bentley/Microstation 8.5 or higher and AutoCAD 2004 or higher. V8i, Lode Data, Focus, GIS, Access are a plus. Must be proficient in all Microsoft Office applications. Must be very detailed in nature with the ability to concentrate for extended periods on QC reviews while maintaining high accuracy levels as mandated by project guidelines.
