Qualifications

Must have a minimum of 2 years experience in installation or a technical field with complete technical knowledge of CATV and HSD required. Must be able to differentiate color codes. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from mangers, clients, customers and the general public.Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out

Job Description

MAJOR DUTIES – Include, but not limited to:

• Schedules, coordinates and supervises the work of assigned installation personnel and ensures that there is an equitable distribution of work and there is full utilization of staff.
• Assists in interviewing, hiring, training and developing installation personnel.
• Ensures that installers are adequately trained to perform technical/installation-related and customer relations functions in the field including cable new connects, reconnects, upgrades, disconnects, sales, save, collections and high speed data connections as well as digital phone installations and any other related services.
• Ensures that work is completed in a timely manner and in accordance with established policies, procedures and standards.
• Conduct regular Quality Control checks to evaluate installer performance and compliance with MSO standards.
• Ensure that installers have proper inventory, tools, equipment and other resources necessary to perform their jobs as directed.
• Controls and maintains company and MSO assets including but not limited to equipment and supplies.
• Ensure proper vehicle care, adequate inspections and complete and accurate records.
• Ensure that technicians present a professional image and comply with all policies, standards, procedures, including procedures for completing new cable installations, disconnects, changes of service and activations.
• Provide assistance and direction as needed to complete difficult jobs.
• Must be capable of performing the duties and responsibilities of an installer.
• Ensure that individual and departmental performance standards are met, including attendance issues and take disciplinary/corrective action as needed.
• Respond to and resolve customer and employee complaints in a timely manner.
• Keep management informed regarding problems and progress.
• Coordinate with other departments as needed.
• Assist Technical Operations Manager in preparing report and making recommendations regarding policies, procedures and standards.
• Conduct performance reviews in a timely manner.
• Maintain effective supervisor-employee communication. Provide leadership and recognition as appropriate.
• Maintain departmental files and all other necessary records.
• Ensure that timekeeping and all other paperwork is completed properly and submitted in a timely manner.
• Track and record performance levels of each installer, including job audits, sick leave, vacations and reporting late to work.
• Co-ordinates with contractors as needed.
• Be available for any on-call emergency, evenings and weekends.
• Other duties as assigned
