Job Description
Immediate openings for experienced OSP Fiber splicing techs for FTTH splicing who match the below job description and summary.
POSITION SUMMARY: Splicing Tech will prep and install fiber enclosures in communication and power zone on aerial plant and perform fusion splicing using F40S fusion splicing equipment. Technician will also be responsible for conformance testing of spliced fibers using EXFO OTDR and Insertion loss equipment.
Qualifications:
One (1) year of technical education or equivalent experience.
Two (2) years of experience required with basic construction and/or electrical skills and the willingness to be cross-trained in other areas of fiber optic communications maintenance.
Fujikura and EXFO Equipment training highly desired.
Requirements:
Must possess strong problem solving, decision making, analytical skills and organizational skills.
Ability to read, write, understand, and follow written procedures.
Ability to climb and work at heights, valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
Ability to work from an Aerial lift truck and/or ladder.
Ability to use light source and power meters, Perform Ribbon splicing
Position requires driving between worksites.
Travel may be required
Clean driving record
