Job Description
Wirecomm Systems is seeking experienced Fiber Splicing Technicians. Fiber Splicing Technicians will be responsible for splicing fiber, as well as for the installation and operation of Outside Plant (OSP) and Inside Plant Fiber Optic/Copper Networks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but may not be limited to the following:
• Splice fiber optic cables using single and mass fusion equipment
• Responsible for cable terminations on cross connect, patch panels, hubs and routers
• Familiar with industry testing equipment
• Validate and test end to end service provisioning for the Outside Plant copper/fiber network
• Accurate cable terminations on cross connect, patch panels, hubs and routers
• Conducts pre-installation terminating, splicing and testing
• Keeps a safe working environment
Qualifications

• Minimum of 3-5+ years experience in fiber splicing
• An understanding of construction prints and splice schematics
• Knowledge of Cat 5, 5E, and 6 cabling
• Experience with hands-on splicing of fiber optics
• Strong knowledge of OTDR testers
