Job Description
Our Engineering division has two sub-divisions: Design Engineering and Field Engineering. The Engineering Project Manager (EPM) position is in our Field Engineering division. The division responsibilities include gathering field data, permitting, and make-ready engineering. Our focus is FTTH; however, we adapt to our clients’ requirements and have designed Fiber to the Node and HFC networks. The Field Engineering division is based solely at the various project offices.
Position Description:
The EPM is responsible for onsite project support of both the engineering team and operations team and serves as the engineering interface with the client. The candidate will manage the onsite engineering team at his/her assigned jobsite; manage field engineering efforts on a project; work with operations to understand and incorporate their constructability comments to design; and interface with and report to the client, also reporting back to the engineering team to ensure that client expectations are met. Specific responsibilities includes oversight of outside plant make-ready engineering and coordination with the utility on alternate solutions when needed, review of public records for existing right of way and easement information, pursuit of new easements and permits for aerial and underground construction, and field quality control of the design submitted by the Design Engineering division. Candidate will need to stay up-to-date on emerging technologies and their application to our clients’ telecommunications systems.
