This is a prevailing wage job, so prevailing wages will be payed plus incentive based on production.
Qualifications
Experienced splicers required - must have at least 4 years of fiber-splicing experience and be able to splice from a bucket truck or ladder, and gaffing may be useful as well. Must be able to provide references from previous splicing work, have a valid driver's license, and pass a drug test.
Other Requirements
All fusion-splicing related tools. Testing equipment (OTDR's, VFL's, etc) would be a plus, and splicers should preferably have their own bucket truck/van and splicing-trailer.
Job Description
This is a FTTH (Fiber-to-the-home) project with long-term potential - 200 miles presently and more to come. We are placing and splicing in 3M and Corning aerial fiber optic splice-enclosures (12-count fiber up to 288-count), LCP cabinets, and pig-tails in ONT's on the sides of customers' homes.
