Job Description

• Manage the installation and/or repair staff and related functions including, but not limited to, installation, repair, customer service of installations and repairs, and other technical functions.
• Assist in scheduling and direct the work activities of installers, service technicians or system technicians or contractors as assigned and technical training of personnel; and for all service activities which contribute to customer satisfaction.
• Work with customers to resolve installation/service related complaints, regarding both the quality of service and employee conduct.
• Provide engineering support, develop technical documents and define methods and procedures for the rollout of new and existing products and customers.
• Analyze current practices for allocation of time versus resources, technical needs, safety compliance, etc. and other items for technical efficiencies and makes suggestions on improved practices and procedures.
• Develop and implement new technical service practices that will improve the quality of customer service provided by installation or other technical personnel.
• May perform all duties of technical staff when necessary.
• Perform on call duty as assigned.

• Develop department budget needs to provide proper equipment to their team; meters, trucks, tools, etc.
• Oversee purchase and warehousing of all equipment and supplies.
• Provide and/or facilitate engineering design assistance of complex network solutions.
• Conduct research and evaluate new technologies that have the potential to enhance Packerland’s revenue base, this includes setting up test platforms for new equipment and coordinating efforts with other departments, such as Networks, Access Networks, IP Services, IT and Sales.
• Validate problem descriptions and perform detailed problem diagnosis; track and update problems in trouble ticketing system. Facilitate and resolve escalated trouble calls and work closely with engineering, field technicians, and third party vendors to diagnose, correct and resolve service related issues.
• Take appropriate action to monitor and maintain service level agreements. Perform basic network operations functions such as monitoring information on all sites and circuits, identify deterioration of components and dispatch and assist various field personnel with repairs.
• Work on projects/systems/issues of all complexities surrounding network maintenance, planning, configuration and network and equipment optimization.
• Assist NOC Tiered Support, TAC and field personnel with troubleshooting, support and maintenance of network elements and connections required to support Packerland’s revenue generating networks.
• Provide technical sales support for staff and customers.
• Make recommendations for continuous quality improvement.
• Help plan and meet project deadlines. Assist in budget management and planning.
