Job Description
Summary: Service/Installation Technicians are responsible for the overall installation, service to standard, cleanliness, safety of MDU Networks, and documentation with which they have been assigned.
Service/Installation Technicians will work independently and with other personnel to perform installation/ service issues from inside the customers unit to the outside, (D-Mark, to the IDF).
They will trouble shoot issues, repair failures of production/network equipment. Ensure maximum equipment efficiency and effectiveness. All tasks will be performed while supporting the policies, goals and objectives of DirecPath.
? Coordinate daily jobs to ensure most efficient ways of completion
? Communicate with Supervisor on any and all issues within the company pertinent to field operations
? Close out all jobs real time with zero (0) past opens.
? Oversee the installation of the IRD, Set-Top Box, ATA, MTA, and DOCIS Cable Modem, and Switches
? Repair; replace all hardware, and cabling (barrels, connectors, splitters, etc.) to ensure proper function of all DirecPath services and devices.
? Identify and document all issues pertaining to the MDU Network System and Plant.
? Able to set up effectively, operate all required hand tools, and test equipment including Satellite Meter, CATV Meters, and PC based Test forms.
? Able to monitor and maintain all aspects of Coaxial, and Twisted pair distribution networks.
? Able to prioritize, manage and report on the various job requirements and duties on a day to day basis.
? Request, Track, and Maintain all truck inventory on a daily basis, (receivers, modems, cabling, splitters, connectors, etc.),
? Document and Process all paper work daily.
? Ensure company vehicle is stocked and ready for any kind of service call and or outage
? Communicate efficiently and educate the customer in the use of DirecPath equipment and services.
? Communicate with property managers for any issues that may have not been reported yet, after having first reported the issue to your Supervisor.
? Report all system issues to team Maintenance Technician and Supervisor for prompt resolution.
? Participate in Plant Safety, Health, and Environmental programs.
? Maintain all data from service job and system upkeep
