Job Description

OCC is currently looking for Commercial Cable Technicians in Houston, TX. This is a full-time position. Will train. Must have an insured truck or van.
REQUIREMENTS:
- pass drug test and background search (no felonies or misdemeanors) during pre-employment and annually thereafter as required by Contractor
- have valid driver's license
- satisfactory driving record with a minimum of three consecutive years of driving experience
- at least 21 years old
- regular and predictable attendance
- have an insured and reliable work truck or van with a ladder rack able to carry a 28' extension ladder
- must have reliable work truck/van
- knowledge of hand and power tools
- basic computer and mathematic skills
- ability to climb poles up to 32 feet, and lift between 75 to 90 lbs.
EDUCATION:
- high school diploma or equivalent; some college or vocational training preferred
CERTIFICATIONS:
- none required, but upon employment will be required to pass NCTI tests as required by OCC and Contractor
DUTIES:
- work in commercial buildings on ceilings, possibly near power lines and inclement weather
- install basic cable equipment in/on commercial buildings
- ground service cables to NEC specifications
- install co-ax J-hook runs on wood, block and concrete
- small core drilling through drywall, cinder block and concrete
- pull, install and terminate Cat 5/6 cable
- install digital voice/VolP/Telephony and explain how to use it to customers
- work safely following all OSHA and OCC safety policies including basic ladder usage
