Job Description
MDU Fiber Installation Subcontractor
We are seeking an experienced subcontractor to install fiber-optic infrastructure in apartment buildings and other multi-dwelling units (MDUs). Work includes routing fiber through buildings, installing conduit and raceways, connecting individual units, splicing and terminating fiber, and testing completed installations.
Responsibilities
- Install fiber-optic cable in building pathways, common areas, and residential units.
- Perform fusion splicing, termination, labeling, and cable management.
- Test and troubleshoot fiber connections using OTDR and optical power meters.
- Read construction drawings and follow project specifications.
- Properly seal and firestop building penetrations.
- Coordinate access with property managers and residents.
- Maintain clean work areas and submit installation records and test results.
Qualifications
- Previous MDU fiber installation experience.
- Skilled in fiber handling, splicing, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Ability to provide trained technicians, tools, equipment, and reliable transportation.
- Applicable licenses and required insurance.
- Strong communication, dependable scheduling, and attention to workmanship and safety.
