Job Description
WE TRY TO KEEP YOU NEAR HOME
We place crews within a reasonable distance of where they live and keep
travel to a minimum. We are not looking to ship you across the country and
park you in a hotel for six months. Local crews and traveling crews are both
welcome — tell us which you are and we will work with it.
THE WORK — residential and small-business fulfillment, terminal to CPE:
- Aerial, buried and HARD DROPS
- ONT/NID install and mounting
- Router/CPE setup, activation, speed verification
- Customer education at the door
- Service calls and trouble tickets
The inside work is largely plug and play. The skill on this job is in the
drop. Fulfillment only — no splicing, no make-ready, no main-line
construction.
HARD DROPS — READ THIS
You must be comfortable running hard drops. If your crew only wants temps
and easy aerials, this is not the right fit and we will both find that out
in week one. Say so up front and we will part friendly.
TRAINING
You will need to travel for training before you start. That is a one-time
trip, not an ongoing expectation.
PAY AND TERMS
Rate sheet available on request. Paid weekly. Net terms and chargeback policy
in writing before your first ticket — no surprises, no games.
WHO WE WANT
- Established 1099 crews with their own techs, trucks and insurance
- Experienced owner-operator techs
- Teams of 2-5 preferred; a solid single operator is worth a call
- Prior FTTH fulfillment experience strongly preferred. Comcast,
Charter/Spectrum, Frontier, GoNetspeed, TDS, Windstream, Hotwire or
DirecTV install backgrounds move up the list.
REQUIREMENTS
- Truck or van with ladder rack and 28 ft extension ladder
- Hand tools plus optical power meter and visual fault locator
- Smartphone or tablet for work orders and photo documentation
- General liability and auto insurance; workers comp where applicable
- Valid license, clean MVR, able to pass background check and drug screen
- W-9 and certificate of insurance before first ticket
This is northern New England. Winter work is real work — be straight with us
about whether you have done it.
