Qualifications
Experience & Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED; Utility, telecommunications, forestry, construction, or utility inspection experience preferred; Experience with GPS, GIS, ESRI, or mobile data collection platforms preferred; Strong attention to detail and documentation skills; Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and terrain conditions.

Key Responsibilities: Perform visual, sounding, excavation, and boring inspections on wood utility poles; Identify and document decay, damage, defects, and safety hazards; Classify poles requiring replacement or immediate attention; Collect inspection data, GPS coordinates, photographs, and GIS updates; Install inspection tags and maintain accurate records; Follow all OSHA, utility, and company safety requirements.
Job Description
The Pole Inspector is responsible for inspecting utility distribution poles, identifying structural defects and decay, collecting field data, updating GIS records, and ensuring compliance with utility and safety standards.
Required Licenses & Certifications: Valid Driver's License with acceptable driving record; OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 preferred; First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
Insurance Requirements (Contractor Personnel): Workers' Compensation coverage as required by state law; Commercial General Liability: $1M per occurrence / $2M aggregate; Commercial Auto Liability: $1M combined single limit; Umbrella Liability: $1M minimum; Additional insured and waiver of subrogation requirements as applicable.
Physical Requirements: Walk long distances over uneven terrain; Lift up to 50 lbs.; Dig around poles and work outdoors for extended periods; Safely work near roadways and utility infrastructure.
