Job Description
Island Wiring LLC is seeking experienced, self-sufficient FTTH Installers who are local to the Brownsville, TX area to perform residential fiber internet installations.
This is a local position. No housing, per diem, gas allowance, travel reimbursement, or relocation expenses are provided.
Technicians must be experienced and capable of working independently in the field. We are looking for installers who can manage their assigned workload with minimal supervision, take pride in their work, understand productivity expectations, and maintain strong safety and customer-service standards.
Responsibilities:
Install Fiber-to-the-Home (FTTH) services for residential customers
Run fiber drops from the tap to the home
Install and secure fiber along exterior walls and entry points
Perform fiber splicing as required
Mount and connect ONTs, routers, and other customer equipment
Test and verify light levels, service connectivity, and proper operation
Troubleshoot installation issues independently in the field
Educate customers on equipment and basic service use
Accurately document completed work through the work order system
Maintain clean, professional installations and work areas
Required Experience:
Previous FTTH or telecommunications installation experience
Cable, satellite, fiber, or internet service installation experience
Experience running drops and installing exterior wiring
Experience with fiber splicing
Familiarity with fiber tools including cleavers, strippers, fusion splicers, and light meters
Must be able to complete residential FTTH installations independently with minimal supervision
