Job Description
Mercury Z has immediate long-term openings for Fiber Installation & Repair Technicians on an active Fiber Installs project in the Southeast. This is steady, high-volume work with excellent compensation packages — a great opportunity for an independent tech looking for consistent long-term placement.
The Work:
Perform residential fiber installations from the drop point to the customer premises
Route and secure fiber cable per industry standards (interior and exterior runs)
Install and mount Network Interface Devices (NID) and Optical Network Terminals (ONT)
Terminate and test fiber connections to ensure proper signal strength and service activation
Program and activate ONT/service equipment at time of install
Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues on-site to ensure first-time completion
Maintain accurate documentation of completed installs and any post-install adjustments
Represent Mercury Z and the client professionally during customer-facing visits
Schedule & Pay:
Long-term opportunity — steady, high-volume work
6 days/week (Monday–Saturday)
Per diem provided for days worked
Excellent compensation package
Required Tools & Equipment (tech must supply):
Proper truck or work van in good condition, equipped with ladder rack and 28 ft ladder
iPhone 11 or newer
Ideal Candidate:
Experienced, self-sufficient fiber technician with reliable transportation set up for fieldwork, looking for stable long-term work rather than short-term assignments.
Location: Southeast Region
Pay: Excellent compensation package
Schedule: 6 days/week (Mon–Sat)
