This is a full-time, field-based position for an experienced OSP professional who understands underground construction, utility locating, quality control, and the importance of identifying potential conflicts before excavation or directional drilling begins.
The ideal candidate will have **hands-on Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) experience** and a strong background in telecommunications or utility construction.

## Position Overview
As the **GPR / Quality Control Supervisor**, you will be responsible for supporting field construction teams through proactive underground utility investigation, quality inspections, documentation, and construction oversight.
You will work directly with construction crews and project management to identify potential underground conflicts, verify construction quality, reduce utility damages, and ensure work is being completed safely and according to project specifications.
### Key Responsibilities
* Perform **Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) scanning** to identify and investigate underground utilities, structures, and potential conflicts before excavation or drilling.
* Document and map GPR findings so construction teams have accurate field information before beginning work.
* Establish scanning grids and systematically collect subsurface data in areas of concern.
* Interpret GPR data, including identifying characteristic **hyperbolic responses associated with buried objects and utilities**.
* Use GPR software to process findings and generate professional reports, maps, and supporting documentation.
* Conduct daily quality-control inspections across directional drilling, trenching, underground, aerial, restoration, and other OSP activities.
* Verify construction is being performed according to approved plans, specifications, permits, and applicable standards.
* Identify quality, safety, restoration, depth, placement, and utility-conflict issues before they become larger problems.
* Coordinate directly with construction managers, project managers, crews, subcontractors, inspectors, and utility representatives.
* Complete daily and weekly QC reports documenting field conditions, deficiencies, corrective actions, and completed inspections.
* Help resolve field conflicts quickly to minimize construction downtime.
* Hold crews accountable for correcting deficiencies and maintaining Milenium's construction standards.
* Support investigations involving utility conflicts or potential damages when required.
* Champion Milenium's **“Nobody Gets Hurt”** safety culture across every job site.
## Required Experience & Skills
* **5+ years of experience** in OSP telecommunications, utility construction, engineering, locating, or related field operations.
* **2+ years of supervisory, QC, locating, or field leadership experience** preferred.
* Strong understanding of directional drilling, trenching, conduit installation, fiber construction, restoration, and underground utility environments.
* Experience inspecting active construction sites and identifying workmanship or safety deficiencies.
* Working knowledge of **OSHA, NESC, utility-locating practices, and local construction requirements**.
* Strong communication and conflict-resolution skills.
* Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions.
* Comfortable communicating with construction crews, project managers, inspectors, municipalities, utilities, and customers.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and digital project-tracking/reporting systems.
* Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
## GPR Experience Required
Candidates should have practical experience utilizing **Ground Penetrating Radar for underground utility investigation and mapping**, including:
* Operating and configuring GPR equipment in active construction environments.
* Understanding antenna frequencies and selecting appropriate frequencies based on depth, resolution, and field conditions.
* Establishing scanning grids and performing systematic scans.
* Identifying and interpreting subsurface anomalies and hyperbolic patterns.
* Understanding the limitations of GPR and recognizing when additional locating methods may be required.
* Processing and analyzing collected GPR data.
* Producing professional documentation, maps, and reports from field findings.
* Communicating GPR findings clearly to construction personnel before excavation or drilling begins.
## Additional Requirements
* High school diploma or GED required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
* Valid, unencumbered driver's license.
* Ability to travel daily throughout the **Anderson, South Carolina market and surrounding project areas**.
* Comfortable working outdoors for extended periods in active construction environments.
* Ability to walk construction routes, inspect excavation areas, and transport field equipment as required.
