Telcom Utility Construction Laborer
Wage: $18 - $28 DOE
Universal Utility Services, LLC is a fast-growing Utility Construction Company. Our services include installation, maintenance & upgrade of communication & utility infrastructure.
Overview
Under general supervision, this entry level position assists in performing tasks associated with Utility Construction.
Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
• Must be able to follow simple instructions
• Must dig trenches manually or mechanically
• Should be able to safely identify utilities in the trench/bore path
• Wil restore and landscape disturbed areas of the jobsite
• Performs site clean-up
• Responsible for clean vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment
• Willing to demonstrate job skill, procedures, and techniques to new hires
• Must always follow all safety rules
• Expected to attend all safety meetings and training.
• Shall use all prescribed safety equipment that is required to safely do the job at hand
This position may require overtime, weekend work, night work and/or overnight travel
Qualifications:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.
Education/Experience
• Standard Driver’s License, CDL preferred
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, & periodic random drug testing
• Must have the ability to operate manual and mechanical equipment as necessary
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written, or oral instructions.
• Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
• Ability to work long hours, occasional overnight travel
Physical demands:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to; bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; the employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds repeatedly and frequently.
Work environment:
While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and may be subject to adverse conditions such as high temperatures, high wind, extreme cold, rain, sleet, and snow. The outside work environment will vary throughout the workday including changes in terrain, traffic, urban settings and/or rural settings.
