We are currently recruiting this position for St. George, Utah.

Position Title:
Equipment Operator-Utility Construction

Wage: $19 - $32 DOE
Universal Utility, LLC is a fast-growing Utility Construction Company. Our services include installation, maintenance & upgrade of communication & utility infrastructure

Overview
This is a skilled position involving the safe and efficient operation of various types of construction equipment including but not limited to heavy equipment, excavators large and small, backhoe, loader or skid steer, and dump truck.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Duties and Functions)
• Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Responsible for safe slopes on excavations with proper shoring and barricading.
• Locate utilities and other buried lines prior to digging.
• Perform minor servicing maintenance & repair on equipment: greases, oils, minor repairs, or refer major problems to the supervisor
• Direct, coach and teach laborers.
• Keep time and material records.

This position may require overtime, weekend work, night work and/or overnight travel

Qualifications
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or ability required.

Education/Experience
• Valid driver's license and clean MVR, CDL preferred
• Must be able to pass pre-employment drug test, & periodic random drug testing

Work Requirements
• Previous heavy equipment operation experience or training is highly preferred.

Knowledge/Skill Requirements
• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed, written, or oral instructions.
• Ability to work well with others in a group or one on one setting.
• Ability to work long hours, occasional overnight travel

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Valid Driver’s with clean MVR, CDL preferred

Physical Requirements
• Frequently required to sit, climb, and use hands to signal and handle equipment.
• Occasionally required to stand, walk, crawl, kneel, bend, and reach with hands and arms above their shoulders.
• Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50-75 lbs.

Work Environment
• Employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts
• Exposed to outside weather conditions, extreme heat, cold, rain, snow, wind etc.
