Bucket/Ladder Small Fiber Splicer
Job Description
Are you tired of the inconsistencies in High-Split coax work? Looking to cross over into the fiber construction side of the industry?
We are expanding our team and seeking up to 3 ready-to-work technicians to learn basic aerial fiber splicing. If you are familiar with working in the air, this is a seamless transition to a higher-earning, more stable career path.
Why Make the Switch?
Consistent, High-Volume Work: Work available 7:00 AM – 9:00 PM, 6 days a week. No stoppage for sporting events, holidays, material delays, or market saturation.
Exceptional Earning Potential: Subcontractors average $4,375 – $7,000 per week ($175 average per location at 5–8 locations per day).
Physically Easier Work: Fiber splicing is physically less demanding than coax splicing and opens up long-term industry opportunities beyond limited coax markets.
Hands-On Support: We provide hands-on training for mapping and splice documentation until you are fully confident to operate independently.
Project Details & Scope
Work Setup: All splicing is performed in the air (aerial).
Fiber Type: Flat 48 fiber with an average of 3 to 7 splices per location.
Time Expectations: Splicing takes under a minute per splice; documentation and tap assembly bring the average location time to ~1 hour.
Accessibility: While bucket trucks cover most sites, candidate must know how to climb or use a ladder for hard-to-reach locations.
Equipment & Requirements
Splicing Equipment: We have 2 temporary splicing units available for use while you acquire your own (an Signal Fire AI-9, Signal Fire FX39, or equivalent fusion splicer is sufficient).
Readiness: Candidates must be in-market and ready to start immediately.
Limited Openings
We are capping this onboarding round at 5 total splicers and already have 2 positions filled. The remaining 3 spots are first-come, first-served. This means in market. Committing does not hold your spot.
Once these positions are filled, additional applicants will be placed on our roster for upcoming market expansions or future openings.
Interested? Apply today to secure your spot!
