Qualifications
OSP, ISP, Data Center, and Utility fiber experience preferred. Responsibilities include ribbon splicing, circuit builds, mitigation of dense splice trays and enclosures, FDP installation (high- and low-density), fiber audits, emergency restoration, and remediation of high loss, reflections, and MFD issues. Experience with Fujikura 90R/100R, EXFO platforms, and 435B connector scopes preferred (training available). ADSS/OPGW and substation experience a plus. Detail-oriented technicians only
Other Requirements
Reliable Late Model Truck/Trailer/Van/ 4x4 is preferred. Acclimation to All weather conditions Insurance & clean background. Late model Fusion set & OTDR/OLTS required.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities
Interpret and work from fiber network diagrams, splice matrices, and as-built documentation.
Locate splice vaults, handholes, and fiber distribution points (FDPs) to identify customer-serving fiber segments.
Perform circuit builds, turn-ups, and migrations within dense, active fiber network environments.
Mitigate and reorganize congested splice trays, splice enclosures, and fiber management systems while maintaining service continuity.
Install, terminate, and manage high-density and low-density Fiber Distribution Panel (FDP) shelves.
Audit and verify fiber strand assignments within live and often disorderly splice enclosures, cabinets, and FDPs.
Perform emergency restoration and outage response activities when required.
Troubleshoot, identify, and resolve fiber routing and connectivity issues.
Maintain accurate records, redlines, test results, and as-built documentation.
Desired Skills & Qualifications
Experience with OSP and ISP fiber networks, including ribbon fiber architectures.
Ability to navigate complex fiber routes using network diagrams and customer documentation.
Strong understanding of splice enclosure management, fiber identification, and circuit routing.
Experience auditing and tracing live fibers within high-density environments.
Familiarity with FDP installation, fiber distribution systems, and cable management best practices.
Experience with ribbon fusion splicers such as Fujikura 90R, 100R, AFL, or similar platforms.
Ability to work independently in mission-critical environments and make sound technical decisions.
Exceptional attention to detail and professional tradecraft.
Commitment to producing accurate documentation and maintaining high-quality workmanship standards.
