Qualifications
Minimum 2 years’ experience in telecom industry or similar role as a drill locator/groundhand. Experience with reading HFC design maps. Valid Driver’s License. Available to work a flexible schedule in all environments, through rough terrain, weekends and overnights as needed (some overnight stays required). Must be able to pass MVR, background, and drug screen. Willingness to travel to support other markets on an as needed basis. Lift up to 75 pounds. Ability to splice coax or fiber preferred.
Other Requirements
Read 811 to locates and mark underground telecommunications facilities including fiber optic, coaxial, conduit, and network infrastructure, experience preferred. Ability to safely tow and back a trailer. Have a working mobile phone with an active phone number and email address.
Job Description
Install, maintain, and repair underground fiber optic and coaxial cable systems.
• Complete As-Built Drawings
• Read and interpret work orders, design prints, and technical diagrams.
• Communicate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other trades on-site.
• Ensure all OSHA and company specific safety practices are being followed • Support other crews on large projects
• Work individually and as a team
• Ensure safe drilling practices are followed
• Visually spot and verify other utilities in the area to avoid damage
• Clean and maintain equipment
• Ability to safely tow and back a trailer
