Job Description
Rack Edge Solutions is seeking experienced 1099 independent contractors for ongoing data center projects. We are looking for skilled technicians who have hands-on experience working in live data center environments and can support fiber and structured cabling installations.
Requirements
* Must be a 1099 contractor
* Must carry General Liability Insurance
* Experience working in data centers, colocation facilities, or mission-critical environments
* Ability to install, route, dress, label, and test fiber and copper cabling
* Experience with:
* Fiber optic cabling (single-mode and multimode)
* MPO/MTP, LC, and SC fiber connectivity
* Cat5e, Cat6, and Cat6A installations
* Cable tray and ladder rack pathways
* Rack and cabinet cabling
* Cable management and documentation
* Ability to follow customer standards and quality requirements
* Reliable transportation and willingness to travel a plus
* OSHA 10/30, lift certifications, and fiber testing experience a plus but not required
Preferred Skills
* Fiber termination and troubleshooting
* OTDR and power meter testing
* Reading cable schedules, floor plans, and MOPs
* Experience in hyperscale or enterprise data centers
* Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Work Scope
* Fiber and copper cable installation
* Data center rack and cabinet build-outs
* Cable pathway construction
* Cable removals and decommissioning
* Testing, labeling, and documentation
* Support for network deployment and infrastructure projects
