Job Description
We are looking for an experienced Directional Drill Foreman who is responsible for operating drilling and locating equipment, overseeing daily production, ensuring quality workmanship, maintaining a safe job site, and serving as the primary point of contact between the crew and project management.
Responsibilities:
Lead, direct, and work alongside directional drilling crews on fiber optic construction projects
Safely operate directional drill rigs, locating equipment, vacuum excavation equipment, and other construction machinery as needed
Perform all aspects of underground utility installation, including drilling, pulling conduit, placing fiber infrastructure, and restoration activities
Read and interpret utility locates, construction prints, and project specifications
Train and mentor drill operators, laborers, and crew members on proper construction methods and safety procedures
Inspect and maintain drilling equipment, tools, and vehicles to ensure safe operation.
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in Outside Plant construction with 2 years in a lead/supervisory role
Must have a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record. *Class A CDL with tanker endorsement is highly preferred
Ability to read and understand construction prints, site plans, area maps and specifications, and set up construction zones
Must be willing and able to travel to job sites and perform on-call duties, as needed
Other skills necessary for the job include good communication, problem-solving, critical thinking and time management
Ability to work outside in varying weather conditions
Ability to lift up to 75lbs occasionally
